All our sessions are bespoke. Designed specifically for your particular needs. We understand that everyone is different and what works for one person might not work for another.

All sessions are conducted in private, and performed in the comfort of your own home. We believe that being in familiar surroundings rather than a sterile clinic or office is more relaxing and more natural. And that means you get better results. Rest assured that our therapists are DBS certified for your protection and follow a strict code of conduct. Every stage of your therapy is explained to you and you are welcome to have another person present throughout your session should you choose.  Business Applications

In business as in life we face a number of challenges every day. The business world can be tough and wearing. Employees engaged in customer facing roles like sales, particularly cold selling and call centres, face daily rejection which can be extremely harmful for their self esteem. For those in management and senior managerial roles the burden of responsibilty can weigh heavy. It can be a lonely place.

With over forty years experience in business we understand how tough it can be. HypnoLife have devised a range of hypnotherpy support programs to help repair bruised egos, build confidence, build bond and repair teams, motivate and energise.

Q. How much money does smoking cost your business?

I bet you've never even thought about it? If your employees smoke that's their business, right? Wrong, because you pay them to smoke in your time, outside your office or factory. Often while non-smokers continue working inside. Smokers are more likely to be ill. Taking more time out of the business. making your business less efficient.

Why not offer your employees a funded easiQuit course? It will prove to your employees just how much you care about them. It will show them that you consider their health, their future and their families future. And, it will save your business money, improve efficiency and develop team bonding. It might be one of the best investments you ever make!

Information

What hypnosis is

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring phenomenon about which only a limited amount is known. It is believed to occur when our brain is in the Theta state or between Alpha and Theta.

Gamma           High brain activity. Learning, calculating etc.

Beta                Normal waking brain activity. Talking, shopping, reading etc.

Alpha             Relaxed. Watching TV, soaking in a bath.

Theta/Alpha - Daydreaming, imagining, meditating, hypnotised

Theta              Highly relaxed to light sleep.

Delta               Deep restorative sleep

We all experience a form of hypnotic trance many times a day. A day-dream is a very similar state, somewhere between sleep and awake. Dozing on the train can be similar (although some people do sleep completely), your mind elsewhere but in command enough to know when you arrive at your station. Similarly, in the classroom, a meeting at work or walking down the street, we might experience the sensation of being “miles away” for a brief period. Even driving, arriving at your destination, not quite sure how you got there?!

A hypnotist has simply learned a skill. The process of helping others reach the state of awareness we know as hypnotic trance, through spoken and sometimes physical tools. You actually do all the work!

The knowledge and skilled part of hypnotherapy, once you are in a hypnotic trance, is how your practitioner applies his or her skills in helping you to make the changes you are seeking.

What hypnosis is not

Mind control – The concept of mind control under hypnosis is a Hollywood invention. It has perpetuated a myth that is also used in stage hypnosis to assist with the “mystery” that surrounds the hypnotic process. When you undertake the process of hypnosis your hypnotist is merely assisting you to attain this natural state. You a fully in control and should you choose to could open your eyes and walk away at any time.

You cannot get "stuck" under hypnosis. The very worse that could happen is you drift for a while then naturally come back to normality after a few minutes. Some might even drift off to sleep and will awake naturally, probably feeling very refreshed.

You will not run around clucking like a chicken or performing a ballet dance whenever you hear the Sugarplum Fairy (unless you want to)! These are stage hypnosis tricks that rely on a very specific set of circumstances and expectation. No  one can make you do anything that is against your will. At worst you might have slightly less inhibitions - a bit like having a couple of drinks (stage hypnosis is built on this).

Sleep –  Hypnosis is not sleep, although it is related and you do pass through this stage on your way to sleeping. It’s actually a state of hyper-awareness which means you remain very aware of your-self and your surroundings (unlike sleep, when the opposite applies). The process of hypnosis as facilitated by a practitioner allows access to your subconscious mind where suggestions are more easily accepted and change more easily embraced.

Intelligence and mentality –  A common misconception is that people of limited intellect are easier to hypnotise. In reality the complete opposite is the case. As a rule of thumb it is unlikely that a person with an IQ below 70 would be hypnotisable. The same is also true of people suffering schizophrenia or certified as clinically insane and no hypnotist should attempt this unless as part of a medical procedure under the supervision of a qualified medical professional.

“I bet you couldn’t hypnotise me!” – CORRECT! If you don’t want to be hypnotised, you will not be.

Stage Hypnosis

The use of hypnosis as entertainment relies totally on the willingness of the shows' participants (generally members of the audience). Again, the “hypnotist” is the facilitator, but despite appearances, every participant could get up and walk away at any time (sometimes it’s questionable whether participants are fully under hypnosis at all, or simply going along with the show and enjoying the attention!). The stage hypnotists’ show is created around the knowledge that in any group of people there is likely to be a proportion who are highly hypnotisable. Generally speaking, they are the extraverts - the first up for karaoke, the life and soul of the party. You know the sort – maybe you are one? The extrovert mind is the easiest to manipulate in this way, whether by hypnosis or indeed otherwise. They are more open to ideas and suggestions, the least cynical and the first to seek and enjoy attention.

Typically, sales people, speakers, creatives, comedians, actors are easiest to hypnotise. These types are likely to be more creative people and arguably, more imaginative. People with a more scientific, analytical mindset might be harder to hypnotise, although anyone can be if they chose to engage fully in the process.
